Just wanted to get some input if anyone has done this recently and how long it actually took you? I'm going to be doing this work and would apprecaite it if I could bounce questions off you.

I have a set of new OEM bushings but haven't gotten around to doing it yet. Maybe someday...

The job took me 3hrs on a hoist and using a home made bushing tool. I should add, I did the job without removing the rear axle beam from the car.

i was looking at this diy the other day, what kind of signs are you getting that tells you the bushings need replacement? i'm trying to diagnose a prob of my own.

When driving over a pothole or slight road imperfections the car's suspension will sound like it bottoms out. My first thought when I realized that my bushings were bad was that the shocks were gone. It is a very rough ride with bad rear axle bushings.

I think I'm gonna have to re-assess that whole thing after I replace my rear pads and probably rotors.
Anyone know a good place to get that caliper tool?? Rent, buy, BORROW???

I used a generic brake piston turning wheel from Auto Value that i bought for a couple bucks and just muscled the piston in while turning it rather than buying the expensive tool.

At least then you have the tool for future. It has also proven handy to have the kit on weekends for friends who needed it short notice. When you consider the price of the tool vs. the price of taking your car in and paying for someone to do it, it's not that much.

Yes, I have used the little shitty cube from autovalue and it sucks. It's a royal pain, I'd buy the tool everytime no question.

I got the tool from princess auto, I've done it a bunch of times with the generic one and decided that since it's something that I will end up using on many different cars, it was worth it. I'm happy I got it too, it makes the job much quicker and effortless.

I have used the shitty tool on 9 or 10 different cars, still works fine and i'm still up the money for the tool. Usually i recommend the correct/professional tools for the ease of it, but this is one that i'm still on the edge about for recommending.

Must suck when people borrow it forever....

Hopefully I'll get it done this weekend.
