  • Headlight Bulb Removal

    Hey everyone,

I just bought myself some Silverstars and need a procedure for getting the OEM bulb out and the new one in. I've never done it before on my car so I'm a little concerned. Maybe someone could put up some directions or even some pics.

    Thanks
    Bryce

    Re: Headlight Bulb Removal

passenger side is easier. i have all this memorized now, i done it so many times, and again like a few days ago. those stupid eurolites keep burning out, **** em.

no pics, but if you were standing in front of them and looking straight down at them, it goes something like:

    i) slide long pin to the right
    ii) remove black plastic case
iii) remove power from bulb by pulling on cables
iv) push the two pins in there, in, down and up i think, then open the bracket
    v) remove bulb and replace
    vi) reverse the above...

haha i went through the same ordeal a few months ago and started to curse the design.. when its actually super simple

on the back of each light there are these wheels for a better term with clips on them.. undo the clips and turn the wheel and then you'll figure it out from there.. driver said is harder because its tighter but hopefully this helps..

ps.. silverstars made my stock lights mucho better

Just in case you don't know, make sure not to touch the bulb with your finger. The oils from your finger create hotspots and will cause the bulb to prematurely burnout.

              Hey guys,

I tried to use your instructions and I seem to get stuck right after I pull that cap off the back of the lights. I reefed on that bulb and it just wouldnt come out . . . what can I do :(

Did you turn the threaded ring that holds the bulb in place?

I didnt see any ring like that. There was a rubber ring that went around the housing, but that didnt turn or anything like that. . . just streched.

It also helps to take off the battery cover housing and then loosen the battery hold down bolt then slide the battery over. I had to do that to change my turn signals as the housing on there was so tight I had to carefully pry it with pliers.
