Why did you replace just the ring and not the entire hub assembly? You would have had to do the wheel bearing, why not spend the extra money on a new hub assembly + abs sensor considering how bad the old one was?
I would do the new wheel bearing + new hub and go from there.

I had a shop replace it. I wasn't aware at the time that it was the same job as replacing the whole hub.
Regardless, they put a new ring and bearing in there so I'm sure it's fine now.
That's not the biggest problem. My biggest problem is not being able to access the ABS calibration from VAGcom now.
Does anyone have a schematic of how the lateral acceleration sensor and steering sensor hook up to the ABS controller? I'm wondering if they share a connector, fuse or wire somewhere that may be loose?
I am having the same exact problem, the sensor was mangled on the inside. Replaced that the light went away, then the and activation happened. So I read a few places that the ring is the problem. It looked fine but rusted. So I cleaned it, and it stopped activating sometimes.
So decided to replace the ring. Well the hub and bearing, and to my luck, nothing.
So I'm wondering if you resolved the issue bcs I'm really starting to get annoyed.
I did change the front right one bcs I assumed it was the wrecked when I slid into a curb this winter and cracked my rim. But concept told me it was not when they hooked it up to the computer. So I changed the one they said was faulty (rear right )
We had a certain car come into the show here, that the rear right was throwing a code and the sensor was rusted and split in half. Fixed it and the other side was the same, but wasn't throwing a code.
