  • Stock turbo or no... Help please

    hey,

so im in the process of selling my car and a guy who had interest had me take my car to a guy whos got a shop out in country hills, the tech believed that my turbo was not stock because of the size of it compared to stock.

I noticed today in my friends shop that it says Austria and some numbers like 08100, if that helps at all.

My car is noticably faster than stock 1.8's forsure but all ive modded is short ram intake and 3 inch down pipe to test pipe to millteck 2.5inch cat back exhaust.

Any help would be appreciated just wanna figure it out.

Your car is only chipped IMO, a K03s will hold ~14psi at redline with most good softwares. A bigger turbo is more efficient at the higher RPMs and will hold more boost at redline, for instance a FT F4 will hold ~18-19psi at redline and that is basically only 2 steps up from a K03s, the first step being a K04-001.

Open your hood and get in there for some pics

90% chance it's stock and that guy doesn't know what he is talking about.

            Lol what?

It sounds like an oe turbo, especially if you bolted that downpipe on... The flange on the turbo to downpipe is very uncommon, specific to Vw/Audi only I believe.

If its hitting those boost levels and not going into limp mode it is chipped. As for finding out what tune, MSG the previous owner if you can or maybe tunedub/ other shops would be able to hook up to it with their software? I'm not 100% sure on that!
