Actually not that hard. You could use a relay that takes the turn signal and just switches the lights on and off they would be the inverse of the rest of your blinkers though and if your drl are off they wouldn't work. Or you can use a dual pole dual throw relay to turn off the drl power and switch over to the signal power.

Problem i see with that idea Brent is the fact that the amber's are only 1/2 power for the running lights and they are full power for the turn signal use

would it be a problem to run the daytime running lights at full power like the signals?

Well how would you turn then?

how it works in the jetta is that the ambers are half power when the parking light is on (euroswitch middle position) and then they illuminate to full power for the turn signal when it blinks. If your ambers were to be full power then you wouldn't see your turn signals because they would be the same power.

I think what he means is run full power and them dim to nothing to blink (dim, power, dim, power, etc). However I would want the Jetta version of half power. I think full power dual ambers would look kinda weird as DRL's

yeah i mean like, full power for drl, then when you put ur turn signal on, it changes from( full power to 0 power, full power, etc).... if this makes sene lol.

but yeah pat i do know what you mean as full power looking a bit awkward

Yeah i think that would be extremely confusing for on-coming traffic. If the other ambers on the other side went out when you turned on the turn signal it might not be as bad but i still think it would be super awkward. Maybe we can just take a look at the harnesses between golfs and jettas and see what we would need to add to the golf harness to make it like a jetta one?

IIRC golf amber lights only have 2 wires, and jettas have 3 wires, one for dim and one for bright. Maybe just take those connectors from Eric's jetta headlights and we can wire them up to work

Yup for sure. I bet that the "amber, dim" really goes to the peanut bulb on the golf lights. We can take a look

I think the real problem is by law driving lights have to be white and signals have to be amber. You need two bulbs.

Look at the old montana's for example, or any of the old vans, their DRL's were their orange signal lights.

im not really going to worry about it then, i see too many cars with amber drl's and also a ton of cars with no drl's.
