hey everyone, so as I'm still looking for a pair or turn signal pieces, i figure i would post up the small bit of progress i have with my extra set of headlights. so far my plans are to take out the fog projectors and replace them with an extra turn signal, then wire it up so that i have dual daytime running signal lights. I might be up to any other suggestions that you guys may have, so let me know if u guys have any interesting ideas! the lights that i am using for the project are these guys, http://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-...ghts/ES248192/ yeah i know there angel eyes haha but oh well, not sure if i want to take out the angel eyes portion or not yet. unfortunately i have a little crack in one of the housings (where the thumb and writing are) , where the signal and fog projector meets the main projector, so i am going to have to seal or glue that back up. heres the progress so far:

Good on ya for doing work Danny!
JB weld on the back of the crack will keep it all lined up and strong for years to come, it is one of my favorite retrofitting materials along with "Automotive goop" for joints that you want to be kept semi-flexible. It is essentially an adhesive rubber compound that is super strong and sticks to almost any rough surface

Good luck with the wiring for the dual ambers being your DRL's. I looked into it and kind of gave up as I saw no simple means of doing it and still keeping the functionality of the blinker. If you find a way to wire it, guess who you'll be helping nextPatryk

I have a set of GTi stock headlamps if you want to steal some parts from that Danny. I can bring them tonight to the meet. Throw me a six pack and they are all yours.Eric

From what i've always read, wiring them up as DRL's isnt the problem, its getting them to blink as the turn signal is the tough part. FWIW, I really hope you do figure it out cause I still think it would be sweet to run them as my DRL'sPatryk

Re: danny's, i guess you could call it retrofit thread?
yeah i agree pat, i think that will be the big issue for me.
But now that i will have a couple set of sets that i can rip apart, i kind of have the urge to take the projectors out of the aftermarket headlights, and use the oem golf lamps, that im gonna get from classic e and create some kind of headlight that will resemble a oem hid look to an extent. i am still not too sure if i like the black(joeymodded) headlights on a black car such as my own.
