  • 2010 Golf Comfortline Question

I'm looking at buying an 2010 Golf and I couldn't see a block heater but didn't really look that closely and the owner didn't think it had one as its always garage parked. I'm wondering if VW in Calgary would even put a car on the road in Calgary without one?

my 06 tdi had no block/coolant heater, i had to install it when i bought the car, cannot comment on the newer gas engines, but yeah VW will send them out fi the customer does not want to pay for it.

My '04.5 GLI didn't have one and neither does my '11 GTI, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Golf didn't have one either. My dad's CC has one, but it was brought in from Edmonton and they installed it up there.

My 07 golf doesnt have one, and I have never had any problems starting in the freezing cold. I'm forced to park my car outside too, as the BMW and Audi have priority over me

Yea, most euro companies now say they aren't required. Our Volvo never had one, you couldn't even buy one for it.

Actually come to think of it I haven't had a block heater in that last several vehicles I've had.

For a 2010, yes if TDI, no if gas...
