  • Clutch recommendations

    Hey guys, im looking to see what kind of clutch/flywheel you are running and if youre happy with it.
    Im looking to replace mine and not sure which route to take.

    2005 gti, 1.8t, unitronic chipped, abd big bore intake, and 3" exhaust, no plans for big turbo in the near future.
    Current:
    2017 VW Golf Sportwagen 4Motion DSG
    2013 VW Jetta 2.5
    Past:
    2005 VW JTI 1.8T
    1993 VW Jetta 2.0
    1996 VW GTI VR6

    1991 Ford F150 4X4
    1989 Nissan Kingcab 2WD
    1983 Buick Skylark

    Bad experience with Southbend (stg 3)
    Solid experience so far with SPEC. (stg 5)

      You would be fine with a vr6 clutch and flywheel. They are cheap and work well.

        I had one with my 50 trim at up to 30 psi and it held not much left when it came off , but had great feel. Now I love my fx400

            I've had the opposite expierence. Good with southbend, bad with spec.

              Southbend stage 2, great until it died last week.

                The vr6 clutch will work fine, but mine sure is really chattery and loud. Not sure about other people.

                  *2 on this the sachs hd vr6 drives nice and is rated at 350ft pounds
                  Been driving VAG for longer then allot of the members have been alive
