  • very weird noise

hey guys my car has pretty much been parked all day. tonite i let it warm up for about 10-15 mins and when i got back in it i noticed a clicing noise coming from right behind my gauge cluster...i drove uptown and it persisted the whole time..it didnt sound like it was related to the engine as it did not change with gears or rpms. after i got home i shut the car off and put the key to accessorie and the same thing happened. i cant really describe the sound, its almost like a relay switching on and off? also right before i pulled in my driveway my wipers came on automatically once?? any input?

    Re: very weird noise

I had this exact same problem in the summer when I did my CAI. Mine sounded like an electrical pulse and my wipers went once or twice by themselves. I've solved the problem by tightening a ground wire around the battery in the engine bay. I figured I loosened it when I did my CAI, I think it was an orange colored wire, but don't hold my to that. I can send you a picture of it if the weather warms up sometime, but tighten that one up if you can find it and hopefully its solved.

thanx bryce that would make sense as i did just remove the ground off my battery 2 days ago to install my w8 console. and i narrowed it down so that the clicking on happens when the wipers arent on, but as soon as i turn them off the clicking starts again! thanx i will give it a try sometime soon...its friggin cold!!!!
