Buying a Golf R

I've been really digging the Golf R lately. I'm looking at picking up something new next spring and this seems to be a good younger sibling for the gti. Can anyone shed some light on what's involved in buying one of these. I hear that all of the 2012's are gone but they'll be going into production on the 2013's. I also hear that Canada only gets 500 (per production year I guess). When should I be able to order and when would I be able to pick it up? Did any of the 2012's actually sit in a dealer lot?

From what I've heard, the 2013 production will be quite a bit less than the 2012. I know that some of the Golf Rs sat on dealer lots in the states, but I'm not sure about up here. You should be able to go in and place an order/deposit at any time, though. I know some people had their orders placed for the 2012s more than a year before they went into production.

Yes I would suggest if you want one, getting in touch with your dealer of choice and get a deposit and order going ASAP to avoid disappointment.

From what I have read on golfmk6.com, there are a few left on the lots in Ontario. Maybe that's an option for you, otherwise like Blair said, get to the dealership.

At Northland when I was looking around their lot a couple weeks ago they had a black one there. I do not know if it was sold or not but no sold sign and all plastic wrap was still all over interior.
