I definitely wouldn't make them shorter...longer may help a very tiny amount but if you make them too long they will actually start rubbing again, ask me how i know that. They will start rubbing on the front section of the sway instead of the upper loop. You can make them maybe an inch longer but after that it starts to actually hurt it.

I would vote for hotchkis or h-sport as they are also referred to as, or whiteline, for an under the axle sway bar. I sold my whiteline front sway bar a while ago when i made my decision to go air.

Angle grinder is mych easier to cut it with. You'll be there all day with a sawzall and go through many blades. Takes about 10 min with a grinder.

If you are not going to go air ride low H&R also makes sway bars that have a larger "hoop" for lack of a better term.. that goes over the axle. That's what I am currently using and I have had absolutely no issues whatsoever. With no sway bar my car was awful to drive - I would not recommend doing that at all the cars handling is just terrible without it.

Depends on your coilovers. Mines cut out and I don't notice at all.

No matter what you do up front, add a big rear bar. I love having a fwd mkiv that oversteers a touch when pushed.

It doesn't depend on your coilovers, you WILL have more body roll without a front sway bar, that is just facts of life. Now whether or not you pay close enough attention to notice it or not is a different story.
