I am running 215/35 19x8.5 ET35 on my mk6. Its pretty low and i barely rub in the rear.

They rave over pilots? REALLY?

I had them on my jetta last summer and they were THE LOUDEST TIRES I HAVE EVER HEARD.
they did grip really well though... the 30-60km roar coming from them was obnoxious though.

Are they not super close to a track tire?

Thanks for all the input on tires guys! I got a few quotes, so I think I have it figured out now.

So I'm starting to have second thoughts about the BLQs though. The earliest I'll be able to get them is around the end of July. My second choice are OZ Superturismo LMs like the ones below. The GTI in the pic isn't lowered and it's on 18s, so they would look a bit different on mine. I already got a quote for these in the 18x8 ET48 (I'm guessing 225/40R18 would be right for those?), but I'm wondering if 19x8.5 ET44 would maybe be better?

So what do you guys think? Superturismo LMs or wait for the BLQs?

THIS!!! Be original Scott. Yes I know superturismo's have been around for ages, but how many people in calgary are running them??? BLQ's are becoming the new BBS RS. Those who dont have them, WANT THEM. With your drop, a nice set of sporty wheels like the superturismo's will look much better then a set of flashy fancy wheels!

I dont think that the tarmac's work very well unless you are super slammed IMO.

The Tarmac's do look good indeed but I agree with 18s you need a bit more aggressive of a drop, but I know Scott can make it happen with his coils

This is exactly what I was starting to think. Superturismos it is! I already got a quote for them from TunerWorks and I just emailed UrbanX to see if they can get them... Anywhere else I should look?

Urban X will most likely give you the best Price. PM Natty as well to see if he can match or beat the price, and last but not least check out tirerack. Their service and shipping rates are REALLY good!!! But again, Urban X can usually get close to Tirerack's prices, and I believe they do free mounting for you when you order from them. Definitely worth helping out the local shops if the rates are comparable, and seeing how much Urban X has helped out many of the people in our community!
