Cluster Problem

Wow, good prices.


While we're on the subject, I guess I should ask you all. I'm the proud owner of a 1/2 screen MFA Euro Cluster with 000074KM on it. Problem is, according to the part number its a Immo. III cluster, and my car has an Immo. II ecu. Now, the vortex gurus say that this cluster IS backward compatible, but the dealership just cant make it work.

Is there anyone here who could lend me the use of a vag com for a few hours so that I could try to make this fit? Or if not, anyone wanna buy it?

Plugs it it, cluster fires up, works fine, but their vag 5051 (or whatever) cant 'see' it. Tech guy said that a vag-com could probably do it, and SVTWEB on the vortex (who knows about as much as VW themselves about this stuff) says its doable.

Sigh.

thats strange.. yea the Vag-com probably can do it.. perhaps even autobraun up there has one? or try a different dealer

Autobraun has been promising to get a vag com for about a year now. it aint happening.

well come to town, and we can try. i personally shipped an immo3 to an immo2 car and it worked he says. i can probably do it to, mine was simple, but my car is immo3.

So with my 2002, what immobilizer do I have, and what clusters would work???? And who has a Vagcom???

immo3 will only work, and i have vag-com. if you're interested in one, you can either try conrads, or look at the gb thread.

I've got the shareware version of the Vag-Com, but I doubt that will do the trick.

so, i tried installing mrheavyfoot's cluster yesterday, no luck.

it stops on step 18. it says 0 for the stored value, and does not let me change it so i can adapt new keys. i know people have installed immo3 in immo2 cars before.

i am thinking maybe the keys have to be adapted seperately in channel 25:

bart don't you remember how to do the keys.. we did ours after the install..
