Its cool, when you have 3000km's on your car, and you have put 3 tanks of fuel into it.

My TDI really got a boost in mileage around the 10K km mark.

Keep in mind, most are probably vent filling their diesels, which gives a good extra 8 liters... Everyone should remove the vent valve to get this as there is no downside on the diesels. 1200 km should be easy on the highway for a Mk4 diesel.

Yeah I vent, it does add quite a bit. Keeping in mind too to abbotsford requirs a lot of mountain driving. If I were to drive all highway I'd probably be in the 12 - 1300 area too.

Arguably the most bullet-proof tdi engine vw built.

I can't get much over 900 in my passat. 1150 was best in my jetta. Think I may chip it soon - I hear it helps.

                        Re: 2600 kms/tank??!

Stefan if you put a 5/6 speed instead of the slush box it would be no problem. Passat's are heavier, bigger engine, and of course a bigger fuel tank, and all slush boxes. I did have dreams of converting mine, but repairs on things like the balance shaft were coming and I didn't feel like going through all that. The B4 Passat Tdi has been known to get this mileage, of course the tank sizes were the same as well. The chip also only helps if you DON'T use the extra power
