So I have been out of town for about a month, so my car sat untouched for a month. Come home, it started a bit rough, but it started. Noticed the last couple of days, it starts harder, and has been getting louder and louder and rougher in the low RPM`s.
Once I break 2,200 rpm, all seems to be well.
But it knocks and throttle response is weird. For instance going down a hill, foot off the gas, engine braking. I go to accelerate, big lag time, which results in a large puff of diesel smoke out the back.
Then when I got home tonight, I shut it off, went in and got my laptop. It was a bastard to start again. Got the codes, and it is showing 17656/P1248/004680 - Start of Injection Timing Regulation: Control Deviation
Checked the ROSStech wiki. Going to buy the full version of the software tonight, and hopefully get the timing read tomorrow, see what is going on. But any idea what could cause this? I don't remember it being weird before I left.
Could the delay in time, cause it to settle? I left it with just under a half tank. Maybe precip?Any other suggestions?
