easier than that, lodge a piece of wood (4x4) at an angle against the strut body like so |\
bang the bottom portion of the wood inwards with a hammer so it pushes the strut up just enough to pop out.

did it like that on both of my installs.

just did mine too and i found that keeing the bolt in the engine bay makes it so much eaiser to get the strut from the mount. im sure all our eperiance will make it go pretty fast. also, im free friday and saturday (afternoon and night on saturday) I can pm my address as soon as everyone tells me who is all coming.

Sorry to hijack, sorta....I live in Medicine Hat, and am coming to Calgary to pick up wheels/tires. Down here no one wants to touch my coils, and was wondering if I could pay someone on the forums who has experience, and wants to help out. Again I would pay

EDIT: I don't have the equip to do this.

                thanks

Honestly i would do it in your own garage. That way if things screw up for whatever reason or you need to wait on parts at all (very small chance but a chance none the less) you aren't stranded in Calgary. Plus you might want to specify that your car is a mk5, not a mk4. If you just want somebody to install them take it to a reputable shop such as CAW or tunedub. If you want to do the install yourself then invite friends over and figure it out with them

Maybe, when are you planning on doing it time wise?

I am going to be prepping and masking a car that day I think, so I might be able to come help after depending if I get my stuff done to be painted saturday.
