    Re: Wheel test fit?

I wouldn't expect any sized rim and tires to rub with that 2" wheel gap you have there....so not really a fair comparison in my opinion.

The only way to check properly is to either do tons of research or to borrow a set of wheels like the OP is trying to do

they will rub if you make it look right.

it rubs on the metal tab that holds the inner fender, you can undo the fastener and then tuck the inner fender above that, that being said if you make it look right and turn your wheels it will still rub depending on the ground your on. You can easily camber the wheels in on the rear and have it aligned if you are close (you should have alot of room with 8.5") but on the front you can either grind the stock holes are buy camber plates and you will be fine.

        18x8.5 (35mm et) with 215/40 on the front, 225/40 on 18x9.5 n the rear

This all being said, if you stretch tires and go low enough to make it look "right" and not have wheel gap (tuck tire), you will not be able to in anyway drive your car in most situations and feel comfortable with it in calgary. The fronts are long and low so almost any incline rubs, you have to watch the subframe on manholes. If you keep it at a normal ride height for most of the time you will be ok, as my car sits now i have approx a finger thickness between my tire and fender and it is ok like this, only rub my mudflaps in certain areas and in extreme inclines.
