  • Wheel test fit?

Lowered my Mk5 jetta on KW yesterday and I'm looking to test fit a set of 18x8.5 et 35. Might be a long shot but it's worth a try. I'll pick up a 6 pack if any body is willing to help me out.

215/40/18. I don't think I'll be rubbing. My concern is if the kws will go low enough.

with a 215/40/18 or 215/35/18 tire you will be fine, just roll your fenders for good measure.

You will NOT rub. I have 215/40/18 on 18x8.5 ET30 with NO RUBBING ISSUES. and i'm on KONI coils which go lower than KW.

I think that you are going to rub :(
You gotta remember that the stock offset of the mk5's is significantly higher than that of the mk4, is it 45 or something compared to 35?

              18x8.5 et35 all around. on 215/40s

can't go super low with that offset. ideally a front offset of 40/45 would let you go much lower.

that can't be a 215/40 on an 8.5. Doesn't even look a bit stretched.. What is the fender to ground? With my stock 16s and 205/55/16s I'm running 24 front 23 3/4" rear.. Would I be able to run a flush setup? I want something like on my m3

My bad. I totally missed the MK5 part when I wrote my comment and was basing it on a MK4. I know nothing about MK5 offsets so i'm going to just back out of the room slowly......

it is a 215/40 on an 8.5 et35. i have better things to do than post random BS pics to skew members ideas of what their cars will look like. I specifically searched for and posted those pics as they are an exact spec of what you are looking to fit on your vehicle.

I have no idea of FTG etc. tire brand/model can play a huge factor in overall fitment.

if you want specific wheel/tire size fitment pics get on Vortex and do some hardcore research before making your purchase.

This is my old car on 18x8.5 et35 with 215/40/18, I was on H&R sport springs and never rubbed once. I could have been much lower and still been fine.
