    Well, the confusion continues. I called Kal Tire today to see what they said and they told me that the 45et would stick the wheels out further. Then I called PG and they told me the 45et would bring it in closer over stock. Hmmm You're right though Blair, at this point I'll just test fit the damn thing.

      As far as my understanding goes, the lower the offset, the most it sits out from the hub. My evidence would be my brocks. I have 13 offset in the back, which is basically like a 22mm spacer built in and they sit outside the fender.

      If you get a 45 offset wheel, you *might* have to get a 10mm spacer to bring it back out to 35. As said, you will only really know when you do a test fit to see if it can clear your brakes.

        Yeah Simon, I'm pretty sure your right. I still haven't had a chance to do the test fit yet though. How much do spacers cost?

          I don't think that is true, based on the calcs presented on that website I was looking at. Maybe the website is wrong in its methodology. That's definately been known to happen on the internet. But, when you say "the lower the offset, the most it sits out from the hub" are you comparing wheels of the same rim width?

            Disregard what I said in the post above. I see where your logic is coming from.



            The issue is with the non-universal definition of positive and negative offset.

            Some people define Offset as:

            Offset = Centerline - Backspace

            Others define it as:

            Offset = Backspace - Centerline

            In the illustration above, a more positive offset would result in the outside rim edge being sucked in.

            C-town this would explain the discrepency in the comments you got from the two places you talked to.
