  • GLI lip kit question

Hey, ive picked up my rims for this summer, im ordering new ultimo coils since my fk ak coils have all seized but with
running 18 inch rims for it to look super low a lip kit would really help, ive found a GLI front lip from my friend, but im wondering
if side skirts and a bigger rear valence like stock GLI's is the way to go or simply leave it at just the front lip ?????

I personally think that it looks off without the full kit. The lip is nice but from the side it looks odd.

I would personally add a 4-motion lip on the front instead of a GLI and spend the money on a good set of retrofit headlights, will be functional and look great

Ooorrr buy the Votex rep bumpers and skirts I'm selling

Just the front would look a bit off I think, but really I don't know if it's worth doing. Could you go any lower on the coils? I'm on 18's and it looks lower than yours, and I don't even know where my front valence is

I had a hell of a time unseizing mine after the winter, even with anti seize. Did you try putting them in a vise and using a hammer + screwdriver on the coil? That's what I ended up having to do for one. Just streetlines, same as yours, so I wasn't afraid to play rough.

My opinion on your car would be simply a 4-motion. No need for the side skirts because the 4-motion is only a bit taller than a stock valance, plus the 4-motion really matches the rear dual cutout valance.

I'm not sure with Ultimos but you still should be able to go low enough without having to buy expensive lips to make it look low. Rather than spend that much on GLI valences, maybe look into doing bags? I don't remember how much the valences are, but aren't they like $800 for all of them? (Brand new)

Bring me your fk's I can get them unsiezed, over the years I have perfected my process almost nothing that I have not been able to unsieze. Th ereason most coils sieze is because of disimular metals the aluminum ring mixed with road contaminants bonds to the steel shaft of the coil over if you use a product that is specificaloy formulated for aluminum corrosion you should be in business.
