My black paint on my GTI looked exactly like yours does in the picture. I used the Meguiares detailing stuff and it seems to have helped a lot and it didn't take long to do the whole car. Plus it was cheap. As for lowering, im a very 'starving student' car modder and i have vmaxx coilovers. They ran me like $300-$400 and they go pretty low. They are cheap but i havent had a problem with them at all. Also they were decent when i tracked my car at race city.

welcome, and im not sure about the wheels myself, i think with a drop they would look alot better. as others have said, drop it and make it more show than go as it is a 2.0 so alot of money on go fast mods wont actaully go all that far. it you want fast for cheap go 1.8t and do chip, dp, exhaust etc

I have Raceland Ultimo coilovers. they go very low and ride MUCH better than the both of the FK sets that I previously had. They were also cheap and have a lot better threads as well compared to the FK that had very fine threads so dirt got piled in and it was hard to adjust them after winter.

I like where this is going....

As everyone else said, lower. some cheap coils will do the trick.
next a good power polish...remember black cars don't like the foam brush at the car wash
then some little things here and there...I would start with a amber fender marker to match the yellowish bit in the wheels and bumper markers.
Then some caliper paint and your set.

You're on the right track man. Keep the car clean and it'll catch the most attention!
