Re: Where to get Coilovers installed?

As was said go with down pipe first, your stock exhaust is not a huge limitation on a stock turbo car, besides magnaflow are nice but over priced. I would put your money into wear items and do it right once like when you do your coilovers do the contol arms bushings and tie rod ends that way you get your moneys worth out of the alignment.

I just did my own for the first time ever. I recommend having all the right tools etc and I followed this thread:

            http://noahlh.com/car/coilover_howto/

I used an electric impact and it all went pretty well. Good luck!

cheaper than cat-back and you get 3 inch all the way, IMO piping is piping

Or buy a 3" ebay catless downpipe to go to that 2.5 cat back. I have the adapter to go from it too

Sorry 18x8.5 5x100....i think that you have one of those mistaken. If they really are 18x8.5 you are going to have to buy adapters because that is BMW fitment and if they are OEM from a GLI they are 18x7.5

Piping is piping, however you really need to watch for the bend going over the rear axle. Cheap pipes usually don't have a big enough bend and if you even get remotely low on coils then the exhaust will rattle on the beam.

That picture sure looks like the OEM VW RCs and not the ones off of BMW.

Re: Where to get Coilovers installed?

Do you guys think I did OK price wise?

Also, UrbanX quoted me 709$ for brand new tires. 225-40-18. What do you guys think?

Lastly, besides the fact that the car will be 4x4 mode for a week or two, is there any reason why I shouldn't put the wheels on before coils?

                        Wheels have adapters.

It was mentioned, that he should do the suspension first...just because of the look he'll have for a bit. Thats what I think he meant.

18inch wheels on stock suspension may look dubious.
