2009 Tiguan 4-motion: any love?

Found a certified pre-owned 2009 tiguan 4motion at 5th ave.

Wondering if there are any issues or things to be aware of? I think 2009 was the first year of the tiguan, right?

I'm sure VW didn't get it right on the first try

It uses the Golf platform so it's more like the 1.5 try. I drove one at the event they had out at COP this spring and it handled great!

My Mom bought one last year and she's had no issues with hers. I also drove one at the event at COP and it was alot of fun to drive.

Great cars. Selling very well for us with very few mechanical issues! The white one we have on the lot is very clean. Bought here brand new and I actually know the previous owner fairly well!

I don't think they have much in common, q5 is A4 based while the tiguan is from the smaller golf based platform with the transverse mounted engine.

We have one of the first '09s brought in at Northland. Picked up August 2008. No issues other than the turn assist lamps keep burning out. Have had to replace each side at least 3 times. It is my wife's daily driver.

i just bought one because its a car that only comes in here for service never repair . they are awesome . but it is almost cheaper to buy a new one as they are holding their value ridiculous

I have a friend selling one with APR stage 3, alarm starter and full Audison Hertz audio system. Lowered with a bunch of other stuff.

Funny just the other day I was just thinking of how much fun a stage 3 tiguan 4-motion would be. Apr's new stage 3+ is supposidly good for 450-500hp, even their ko4 v2 is 350+hp.

I'm looking into upgrading an 06 Audi A4 2.0TQ to an 09/10 Tiguan with the 4Mo, 2.0T. Is this a good upgrade?

My father in Australia owns a 2010, TDI, 4Mo, 6speed manual tiguan which i have driven plenty of times and taken on long trips and totally loved. I know it was a great car there. What are they like in Canada/Alberta? After doing a search and reading multiple threads, it seems like everyone on here loves them and they have been maintenance free, only regular servicing.

Anymore stories that can be shared/advice given?
