Re: Whatduya think?
They will look good in my opinion. Lets face it, VW dropped the ball on the lower Jetta grills, they look like crap.
C1 has them in stock for the Jetta? How much?
I was looking at buying these but I figured I would need to order them. I think they look good with the 4-motion valence.
There are two places online that have these (that I know of). Performance Cafe and Memo Imports. Just as a price-reference.KR

Re: Whatduya think?
ebay is Memo Imports Their ebay price varries from about $25 to $45 but has gone up lately since Performance Cafe started carrying them.
One reason I have held off is that I think micro fogs is a better way to go and not much more money...Last edited by Kor; 12-17-2003, 04:23 PM.KR

Re: Whatduya think?
Personally I don't believe that the micro fogs will interfere with the intercooler much. Won't this mod have the same problem? There is a guy on vortex who dremeled out some of the plastic on the Hella micro de kit just to be sure. The result looks good to me. You can also install the TT fender liner vent to get around this problem. Or if you've got a 4-motion valence (like me) you can direct air from the valence intake onto the intercooler (maybe).
However, you're right that Hella does not recommend the micro de kit on the 1.8T
I don't want to say that $89 is too much, its about the same price that Performance Cafe has and that Memo Imports has. However, they go for less on eBay and as I mentioned before thats about half the cost of fogs which include... well fogs.
All that being said, if there is a deal on these during Boxing Day I might think differently.Last edited by Kor; 12-17-2003, 05:15 PM.KR
