Hey guys,
Some people know that i'm new to the VW scene so i have got some questions.
Question 1:
When i rev the engine above 1500 rpm, this noise is very very distinct. What i mean is that when i rev it, it sounds like a chain is hitting something. I've done some research and found out that the guide rail for the upper timing chain is notorious for snapping and will look something like this.
It sounds kinda like This, click here for noise, but not as bad as this guys. I'm gonna call VW and get the parts and do this change over the weekend.
Question 2:
My car has 208xxx km on it and i dont know if the timing chain has ever been changed. How often should someone change the timing chain? And should i just change the timing chain anyways while i have the whole thing open?
Question 3:
How do you get better throttle response from this car???????? Every VW i've ever driven has had the same type of throttle response. I dunno if everyone is used to it or if some people have done something about a better response from the gas pedal.
Thanks a lot to everyone for tanking the time to help me out. Much appreciation.
