LOL, could have been worse, they could have burned it to the ground too.

In all seriousness though that sucks. Looks like all they had for tools was a can opener, a dull one.

thats because they exploit the fact that if you shove a flathead into the door lock and turn it it will unlock not only the door but disable the immobilizer. This is why VW offers the blank slugs to replace the locks, which you weld into place and then a blanking plate that covers where the lock used to be.

To be honest that just may be the way to go, cover up the keyhole so that they can't see how to get in. It may just deter them enough. And if i always change the batteries in my fob so i should be good. Do you know if i can just pull the key part out and use a cover??

You don't have to weld, you can just take one from any other door and it goes in there just like the factory one with the key hole, metal plate and a cover. Just make sure you get boost terminals and tuck them somewhere incase your battery dies in the car, doesn't matter if the remote is good if the car itself has no power.

Remember Colin, i have experience breaking into my hood when the battery is dead You even helped give me suggestions on it lol

my terminal got disconnected while under the hood and i had to jack it up and manually pull the cable to release the hood. I think i will be fine if i ever have to do it again :P

Try doing it with your car aired down, can you get a jack under it?

By blocking the key hole, you will definitely need VAG-COM to program a fob if you ever have to.

                          Re: Need some help!!

I have the part to cover up the key hole if you're interested. It's brand new never been used, this same thing happened to me 2 years ago down in fish creek I was going to do the same thing and plug the key hole, If the fob were to ever not work you could just pop it off like the mk6's and use the key hole.

My FOB did die while I was waiting for the car to go into the shop I had no way to get in (Murphy's law). After I managed to get in I left a seat in the back folded down incase I were to get locked out again I could have just crawled through the trunk. something to think about!

No, you are right haha. But i can jack up the back from one side really high, get a stand under the rear pinch weld, then jack up the whole side until i can get another jack under the front pinch weld and go from there? Big PITA but it could theoretically work haha
