  • Question about TT downpipe

I was curious if they make a Downpipe for the 1.8T 20 Value engine without the CAT.

IF so is this still called the Downpipe or is it called a RAcebar?
    THanks

Yes there are a few companies that make a non-CAT Downpipe.

    www.vwturbo.com
    www.forced-motion.com

Typically most system have a CAT welded to the DP, but there are just a few that will have a bolt-on style so that you can put the straightpipe while racing and CAT while normal driving. One bad thing about going without a CAT is you will get a MIL (check engine light)... because our cars are pre & aft O2 sensor style you can't avoid this.

Also, most DP's will suggest you to install stiffer rear motor-mount bushings to prevent the DP from banging/rubbing on heatshields and the steering rack. Forced Motion's system does/did not require stiffer bushings, which keeps the cabin quiet and "buzz" free.

Does anyone make a high-flow 3 inch cat for these cars? I'm sure you can adapt a random tech. one to our cars.
