    Re: "Big Three" wiring upgrade

Hey the stuff is supposed to all arrive next week with my b-quiet sound insulation and i am away all week in the US for work so it will be getting done next saturday. I plan to take tons of pictures and exact lengths of wires. Plus i got a ton of wire so if anyone needs this upgrade i can make your wires and solder the ends on

    This won't go anywhere now....

By the looks of it you need more heat in that solder joint. My bet is it hasn't wicked that far down the copper to hold and make a good contact. I have seen similar joints where it has just held on the end of the strands and was able to pull off easy. I could be wrong but just my two cents.

        Re: "Big Three" wiring upgrade

I have been soldering for god knows how many years (maybe around 15) so i do know how to do it the correct way. Have done it on everything from circuit boards to stereo amplifiers to custom speaker crossovers. I am not a total noob like pat haha.

        But thanks for your concern

              Ive got one of these:

I still solder my heavy gauge terminals, but it makes it a bit easier to work with and needs less solder if crimped first.
