ASR Help

Can someone please explain this button to me.
When you press it - does that turn it on or off?
I've read the owners manual about this but it does not make it that clear to me still.

I know when i have wheel slippage it helps the car get traction but i've never actually played with the button.

Your ASR is ALWAYS on unless you press the button to light up the icon on the cluster then it is off..... go on a patch of ice and you'll see

BUT, the light will flash on and off when the ASR is in use....but otherwise, when the light is OFF, your ASR is on.

thanks for clearing that up. I've spoken to many people and they've all had conflicting comments.
