Blasting chrome off will cost more than $23, in fact they now have a minimum $25, and it cost $110/hr, it will probably take about 40 mins to strip them, then you may need to switch to a bead to properly profile them

Took me 35 minutes to do a set of workmiesters that were chrome before. Went to pay and buddy said give me 25 cash and were good.

As for showing you the ropes I'd be more than happy to. Unfortunately it won't be this weekend or the next, as I am leaving the country for holidays. If you would like to do it sometime in may I can do that.

Fair enough, but your 35 mins is very close to my estimated 40 mins. You can't count on everyone getting your good guy discount, I was told it wont be more than $25, then it cost me $70. I just feel it is important that people are informed of the actual current rates

You are confusing me, are you hoping to have them blasted, cleaned up, repaired and powdercoated for $120, if so, let me know when you find that deal.

If you are hoping to have them stripped and tidied up for $120, that is reasonable

Whoa! I agree. I can see having them stripped and cleaned up, burs taken off from curbage ect...for $120. But to have this all done, finished wheel, ready to have rubber put back on, I can give you a rough estimate of at least $220 for powdercoat.

Have you thought about having them adonized...or definately chromed?

Haha no guys not 120 for everything. I was saying 120 just to get the chrome stripped off, prolly another 150 to have them fixed up and prepped for powdercoating and then 250 for the actual powdercoating, so around 400-500 to get them ready to get new tires on. I am not trying to get a retardedly good deal here, I would rather spend extra money and get them done perfectly than pay a bit less to get them half assed.

The plan was to get them powdercoated, definitely not chrome plated. What would be the benefit of anodizing over powdercoating??

As far as I know the wheels are steel. They are heavy as a mo-fo and I can see rust starting from under the chrome

you wheels are reps in the first place right? why not just buy a new set and let someone else deal with these you would be better off in the end and it would be far less hassle

If i just get another set the exact same thing will happen to them because of the shitty chrome job. I would rather fix these up to last quite a long time than just buy another set which will get wrecked again. I love my wheels and am not going to be happy with hardly anything else in the price range it will take to fix them up

Why spend all that money on chrome plated steel rims? Ewww.... Just paint them yourself and forget about powdercoating them. Prep, Base, clear done!
