    Re: Sheeit

    Road trip?

I dont like buying built engines, people can say whats in them and show receipts for whats in them, doesn't mean they put them in there. Being it was built at a shop maybe, I don't know that its worth it though is it? How much damage is done to yours? If your whole engine is toast then i'd say go for it. Look at how well they masked that block off before paint.......

thats the bottom of the coolant channel in the block iirc, hard to tell from the pic. if its the void on the far side of the block away from the timing chains thats what that hole is. the water pipe (crack pipe) plugs in right near there on the outside of the block.

Man this thing's been for sale forever. I remember talking with them last summer. I don't really remember what the deal was, but it was kind of sketchy. Don't quote me on this, but I think it was some domestic shop (so how much do they really know about VR6's) built it for a customer that never paid, and they didn't have much details on the parts they used.

Either way, moral of the story is that it looks like not a bad option until you start talking with them

varsol. pour it on everything. sadly you don't have a varsol bath.

ur better off buying a shortblock though so dont' even bother cleaning the old block.

to repair your current block, you need to swap crank and at least one piston. which also means all new rod end bearings. new main seals. new main bearings. etc etc. u can do it, but its probably cheaper to buy an engine and more time effective from that place here for $500
