  • Spark Plugs... where are you?

Anyone know of a good local source for spark plugs?

Canadian Tire, for example, sells NGK iridiums suitable for the stock boost levels but nothing for higher performance applications.

There must be some places here...

I get non-spec coppers 1 range cooler at AutoValue/Bumper to Bumper. Way better stock than partsource/CT.

I get these for a chipped 1.8T: NGK BKR7E then change every year or so.

You're running copper plugs for a year? Ive heard theyre only good for around 7000km, so I do them every oil change. Theyre dirt cheap and super easy to change on a 1.8

Went to Auto Value, they said they could only look up the plugs by the in-store number

Partsource was helpful but only had the NGK BR7ES... not sure that they'll work... which Auto Value are you guys going to?

I go to 17th Ave and 37th St SW, you must have had a stupid guy. Does he think ANYONE coming into the shop is going to have Autovalue part numbers?

It used to be 6097 but I think they changed it to a new number.

They look fine when I toss em, shrug.

Haha, that's the one I went to! It was the Assistant Manager who "assisted" me... but then again, she was giving me a pretty nasty scowl as I walked up to talk to the counter

Thanks for the tip about popp too! I think I'll just grab some BK7RE's and see how they do... and maybe next oil change try something else from popp

You can run the BR7ES as they are the new version of BKR7E which is no longer available. Autovalue on 32nd Ave and 36th ST is where I got mine. Certain autovalues have very poor staff that will tell you they aren't available.

Ah, good to know about the updated version... good tip about the other location too, it's actually a lot closer to where I'm living.

If NAPA stocks'em then that's even closer so I'll have a look there too.

I've been just ordering the Denso IK22's from Integrated Engineering but a guy can't always wait for things to come in the mail.

I've always had luck at Partsource, except the last time I got some they only had 4, and I have a VR. Had a decent selection though

Cool, thanks guys. I ended up going with the NGK BR7ES from Partsource. When I have time to put them in it will be nice to compare them to the Denso's I have now.
