Re: out of province salvage
If it's repaired it can be driven, but has to go through a very through inspection, unless you are saving $5-$10 thousand bucks doing this is not worth it.

Re: out of province salvage
I bought a 2003 Jetta 24 valve vr6 GLI that had a coil pack fire with a mint body the only thing the fire took out was the intake manifold and a bunch of hoses otherwise it is mint. The insurance company put the damage @ 7000 because the parts added up to allot because they were buying full retail vw parts so a 10 used hose is valued at $300 but as far as the price goes it will be worth the money. I have priced out and located all the parts on there estimate and will be into it for around a $600 repair cost instead of the 7000 they said it would takeBeen driving VAG for longer then allot of the members have been alive

Re: out of province salvage
Then I would think you are probably in the clear, did it melt any wiring harness? That would be a nightmare.
I think as long as you get the salvage inspection and OPI you should be fine.....
EDIT:
Found this regarding importing a car from the states, if it can come from the states it should be no problem coming from sask.

Are you buying this from the person or the insurance company?
If its from the insurance company, then it will need a salvage title, if its from the person, you might be able to fix it without the salvage title.Last edited by BaggedGLI; 04-01-2011, 09:40 PM.
