i know that the cold temps of winter can affect the hood strut but now mine doesn't hold it at all. i could wait till it gets warmer to see if it gets back to normal but just curious if you guys know if its shot? thanks

The seals shrink and let the gas escape...you could take it off and into your house...it may help.Hers 2009 Audi A4 6sp manual

too bad it didnt come with a rod to hold it up just in case. i had to pour some coolant in last night, that hood is heavy on my head!Ken
