This kit is on sale right now for $1050 and I'm just wondering if anyone has any input on it. I know it doesn't have digital management or anything but I don't want anything fancy. Also, I'm just wondering if it comes with everything that I would need.

It comes with everything you need, but there are certain things that i would recommend:
    1. Run dual compressors, don't kid yourself, you WILL be playing with it.
    2. Im not a huge fan of those front struts because you have to drill into the strut tower to mount them whereas Bagyard uses OEM mounting.
    3. All said and done its up to you, lots of people are happy with this kit, but it comes down to you get what you pay for, the struts aren't as good of quality as the Bilsteins that BY uses, which is going to be a little rougher ride.

Yeah there is no doubt that I will be playing with it sometimes, but I mainly just want it to be able to have a somewhat comfortable ride and have the ability to go over a speedbump without cringing.

I would rather use the OEM mounting but for the price, I wouldn't mind drilling some holes.

How long did it take you to set up yours?

I'm also going to be using this daily and in the winter, so how reliable is it?

My suggestion would be get that kit, then source some used bagyard fronts.

I took about 2 weeks, not driving the car at all and just working on it at night after work/school. If i did it again, i could probably do it in a weekend.

Its reliable, if you do it right, make sure everything is loc tited and sealed and not going to rub a whole in the bags or lines. Also always carry spare parts, i can fix almost anything in my air ride with what i carry in my car. Dont be surprised if your under your car in a parking lot in the snow though.

          Re: Thinking about Air Ride

Thanks for the help. I'm pretty sure that I'm gonna go for it.

          One more question.

Do I keep the rear shocks in? and if so, do I need some that will go lower?

          Thanks again.

I am also looking at bagging my car and wondering were I can find a complete Bagyard kit or if anyone out there has a used kit they are looking to sell.

            Thanks!!!

What have i started, next thing i know every jetta in Calgary will be on bags!!!

Yes you keep the rear shocks, i got some Bilsteins that were more designed for low, they are what a large number of bagged vw's on vortex use, i did some research after my rears blew.

You might be able to find a used setup on vortex or airsociety.net, otherwise I can get you $50 off a new order.

                Thanks for the help Eurotuner.

I ordered the kit from ECS today (got the last one on sale too ). Just have to source out some Bilsteins or something similar for the rear.

                  Re: Thinking about Air Ride

No problem. Talk to Popp, he got me mine, you have any questions relating to air ride, hardlines, parts or want a hand installing, just ask I'm more than willing to help.

And just to clarify its the Bilstein Sport rear struts NOT the HD's

Got my Tank and compressor all set up, I just have to get some fittings for the water catch. I'm also going to run copper hardlines from the switches to the bags because I know for a fact that the nylon lines that I have will crack as soon as they get cold and move a little bit.

                        Sounds good.

About how much copper do you think I will need? I was thinking about 80 feet should be more than enough with some extra.

I'm planning to do the lines and bags towards the end of Feb so I'll probably have a few more questions for you.

Are you running hardlines to the bags? or just in the trunk?

I'm using the nylon lines that were sent with the kit up to the switches (in the dash). Then from there, I'm planning to run the copper.

                              Re: Thinking about Air Ride

Start with a 30'(?) roll from Home Depot, I used a roll and a half, messing some stuff up and I ran hardlines front to rear, and you can always go buy another roll.

                              So this is all manual?
