Likely works with the CAN bus on the car so it would only work on late mk4's. The old diagnostic protocol is just too slow to read sensors out fast enough for a gauge.

If you have an early MKIV then get a Scangauge: http://www.scangauge.com/

Not as pretty but it does the job. I've had one for 3 years now and works like a charm.

just checked out the link, and though the placement was sort of out of the way, but then I don't have pillar gauge pods either.

would you look for data there, especially if you need to toggle through to find what you need to look at.

i hardly ever look at the scangauge in the truck.

make an interface to the FIS display, and control it with the stalk, and that's a good product.
