  • help please!!!

so today my drivers side axle decided to grenade itself, so after getting the car home and the knucke off...i realize i dont have the 16 point (or whatever it is) allen wrench to get the axle off the tranny. could anyone help me out please...as in...does anyone have that allen wrench i could borrow for the day in order to do this?

and yes ive already tried using the standard 8mm allen wrench, and no luck. once its stripped your hooped

any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks guys,

    Tanner

                      Re: help please!!!

If you have stripped the crap out of one of these I have used a needle nose to get them off, or a grinder as last resort.
Either way these are one time use stretch bolts which are suppose to be replaced once you pull them out. I have reused them, just remember to use some thread locker and torque them correctly. Over torque them and next time good luck, under torque them and you could have the axle fall out.

                      Good luck

if they are stretch bolts though the original torque rating will no longer apply. just replace them
