  • TDI Manifold om nom nom

Bought a TDI last month since allroad uses even more fuel in the cold weather.

Having a few issues with it so I figured I look into it.

    Issues include:
    17958 - Charge Pressure : Control Deviation
    Won't go faster than 120km/h

Dug into it and found this:

PO said he had it decoked at 150k. It's at 253k now.

I'm surprised you could even get up to 120km/hr

        Slowly

Biggest power upgrade for allroad = drive TDI with that manifold for a month.

That's about right. My first cleaning was around 80k km and second at 210k km. Pic looks awful familiar. Here was my version:

That is the worst I have seen in awhile. Good thing it is easy to clean. I have some wire brushes you can borrow that work well to clean it out. After that soak it in castrol super clean and you are good to go. After you clean it make sure the egr duty cycle is turned down as low as it can go with a vag-com. A breather filter/catchcan might also help too.

Picking up some super clean after work.

Deleting the EGR with a racepipe.

                      yum yum!

Both of ours were pretty much clogged like that, makes such a huge difference after cleaning that crap out.

Clean it out, put the EGR Delete kit in and add the Race pipe. Soooo many less hoses, no more carbon build up at all = cleaner engine bay. Good investment! Did you buy Brent's 99.5? Get a chip and you will save even more on fuel.
