  • VAG-COM Question

I have an error on the dash (06 jetta TDI) Emissions Workshop. So i thought i'd take a look with the VAG-COM what that means or could be related to.

So i picked up a VAG-COM but im a complete newb at how to use it. I did a autoscan and picked up a bunch of codes. I assume most of them are due to the car having a near dead battery at the moment.

Any ideas on where to start or go from here?

heres a dump of the base autoscan with the engine.

    Re: VAG-COM Question

Looks like a MAF fault. Don't worry about the immobilizer code mine throws that code all the time.

        Re: VAG-COM Question

I would charge up the battery and clear all the faults. Then go for a drive and see what happens. but by the looks of it your maf is no good. What kind of air filter you using?

          Re: VAG-COM Question

I am using a k&n cone. I havent had any issues until the last trip back from edmonton. It was when the real cold was just coming in couple weeks ago. I got the battery all charged back up, ill clear the codes in the morning and take it for a drive and see.

            Re: VAG-COM Question

k&n's can cause issues with the MAF. I think it causes a film of filter oil to build up on the maf sensor.

Try cleaning the MAF with intake cleaner.

cleaned the codes and went for a drive. re ran a scan and nothing coming up anymore. Maybe was from the cold and an errant reading. who knows, but ill keep watching it and see if it throws any more codes.
