Why dont you just have a regular cooper then? If horsepower doesnt matter?

I think horsepower does matter if they are trying to compete with the likes of the Lancer EVO and Subaru WRX/STI (The mk4 R was always pitted against these cars). Both those cars are around 300hp.

Different brakes, suspension, seats, trim, rims, exhaust and yes, more HP and torque than a standard cooper. It also has a LSD. But is it fair to say that a GTI is better than a Cooper S purely based on HP difference? Or that a Cobalt SS is better than a GTI? Just because an EVO has 30-40 more HP than a Golf R, does that make it better?

Horsepower may not be everything, but considering my 2004 R32 has 240HP, and over 7 years they could only add 10HP, it seems that something is missing. Especially for the price they are going for.

Put my name on a blue Golf R! If it all works out there might be a nice Reflex silver .:R available in the spring!

I guess I should have waited a little longer then - would have been cool to get an R32 - then again, I love my car!

Honestly, probably 7 spots left! I have to double check the exact number but we still have a significant portion of our allocation left.

250hp turbo is more than enough in Calgary because of the altitude IIRC this car has the bigger turbo than the GTI too?

My 200hp GTI was faster than the 300hp NA G35 due to thin air up here so 250hp will do just fine.
