Has a thing in there on how VW sucks. Ummm ok. Also points out a site, myvwlemon.com. I'm sure a Honda is better than a VW, like the people in the article say. at Honda.

Re: Read the latest TIME?
When I was looking at buying a VW (specifically a Jetta) I spent some time at Chapters going through the Lemon-Aid Guide by Phil Edmonston and he said that while VW's hold their values really well and their initial fit and finish are excellent, things start to go downhill after 5 or so years. He even pointed out the website you are referring to.
I think with VW in NA, problems with quality control in VW's Mexico plant had a hand in the absolute lemons you see from time to time and possibly the guy's lemon at MYVWlemon.com. It seems with VW, you either get a good car, or you get the POS lemon. Thankfully there are many more well built cars than not. And thus, the reason I still chose to buy my Dub.
One thing about Honda that I like is you don't have to pay for any servicing for something like 5 years. VW servicing is way too much if you ask me.Last edited by 1.8Trip; 12-03-2003, 01:28 PM.

Re: Read the latest TIME?
well i wasn't afraid to buy a VW.. heck its at the end of the model line the window regs have been fixed the gear box grinds the coilpacks plus i got ESP.. you can't hate on VW for making such awesome cars like the R32, and 20th
Plus the fit and finish is absolutely amazing IMO.. my interior is 10x nicer than any honda.. but i compare VWs more to acuras since they are more price matched in that aspect

Re: Read the latest TIME?
A major reason for Vdubs holding their value so well, is because VW has resisted to put out any of these 0% purchase/lease financing deals. However, Honda and Toyota are also careful to not offer any 0% finance deals.
As for someone calling my car a lemon. Whatever. I bought my car because of the way it looks, the way it drives and most importantly... because I love it. If some fag at myvwlemon.com has his panties in a bunch... let him be. I'd rather own a GTi with the occassional problem than be riding with Mr. anti-Volkswagen in his "Look at me... I'm so cool in my Honda Accord... You know, they only sold 414,718 of them in 2002 in North America?"
Good for you Honda! Consider yourself the next Oldsmobile.
Cheers...
