  • Audi valve cover on mk4

I don't know if anyone on here has an Audi valve cover on a mk4 1.8T, but i have bought one and the coil packs don't fit into the hole in the valve cover. Is there a Joey mod for this? Is it as simple as shaving some of the coil pack rubber so that it fits or do I need to go buy new packs?

i honestly couldnt tell you...the valve cover was bought already off. to be most specific i bought it from CAW. ive heard rumors of people cutting some of the rubber on the coil packs to fit down the holes, but seems kinda scetchy to me haha.

Hmm, I might be thinking of of something else. Someone else will chime in. But why are you wanting to use a Audi valve cover anyways?

Tanner, I am assuming your talking about the flat valve cover, I'll send you a text. If it is the flat one, that's the one I have, from CAW, and I just completely removed the rubber boots, tried trimming them with no success. I haven't had a problem yet, just don't spray directly at the valve cover with water and don't wash it when it's cold.

Yea Colin, that's the one. Filler cap is on the right side. I was thinking about that last night aswell...i dont see anything wrong with just cutting the boots right off, aslong as the coilpack reaches down to the spark plug haha.

I didn't even cut the boots off, i just got a flat head underneath and pulled them off

perfect. aswell...i forgot to ask...Sam told me the only way these valve covers work on a mk4 is if your running stand alone? i find that hard to believe, seeing how as the filler cap is on the other side, thats it. and the vacuum line is moved a bit.
