Ok, i think i know the one your talking about, the one that goes to the crank case ventilation right?

I have no problem getting under there, no SAI.

it usually craps out . i have seen a rash of these . all arround 140,000 so i am beginning to replace them on higher milage cars . its like the only thing that if it fails you cannot start the cars

So do they go at once or cut in and out for a while before failing completely?

My original scan said the engine speed sensor had no signal... so I thought it was done but then when my car started up and ran like normal again I started to wonder if there's a short somewhere else.

I've got about 113,000 kms on the odometer so far.

I've replaced my throttle body, speed sensor, and a couple other things i cant remember right now, and all said and done it was fixed, but then one day coming home it did its think where the ecu just like loses power, revs go to 0 (even though clutch is still engaged and going like 110km/h) and the car bucks, it can just be instant or it has just died on me to the point where i had to pull over. It happens after highway driving, a quick stop then more highway driving, and seems to happen sometimes after bumps, leading me to the short idea, but were going to rip into it this winter and see if we cant find something.

Man that's bizzarre. I've never had anything quite like that but my last Jetta ( 02' 1.8T ) had an idle problem once in a while that would appear after hyway then stopped at a light... but I never did find out what caused it.
