      Re: TDI questions

I think I pay about $40 for Delvac 1 ESP and I think it's just as good or better.

        Re: TDI questions

Is that for 4 liters or 5 liters?

The ESP stuff I have is all 4 liters, the TDT is in 5 liter containers

          Re: TDI questions

if you have a pd tdi . do yourself a favor dont use castrol . use motul . total . amsoil or royal purple . . we have gone over this many times but people are new on here so i will explain . pd cam lobes are very susceptible to premature wear so use a verry good oil to curb this . castrol has been the issue in my experience so avoid it . oil aditives to help with metal on metal wear (ie prolong or houchstruk) ARE A GOOD THING , they help to eliminate this . just google brm cam wear to see the issue .

                    Re: TDI questions

You can pay $38 @ crappy tire or $26.44 @ UFA

                    http://www.ufa.com/products/Automoti...tor-Oils.html#

                    Go to page 3

My only beef with Shell is that the new formula they have been using has been compared to Castrol oil and how it performs. This is only from doing a small amount of reading on TDIclub that I get to do every once and a blue moon.

In terms of dealer oil changes, well they will put Castrol in until they are told different. When things start breaking in the engine you will be well out of your warranty period and I would doubt they will cover something oil related. They will call it wear and tear, and tell you to fork over the money.

5 liter verus 4 liter, so $38 versus $33 on the same basis. Of course, it was on sale last week for $22 and I have many jugs....

The stuff of TDIClub was all 3rd hand heresay from one person.... The oil analsyis' all look good.

                          Re: TDI questions

Yes, the picture is wrong. CT just changed all of their stock. That appears to have been the reason for the sale the other week, to get rid of the 4 liter bottles. The new bottles are 5 liter and say T6.
