Easy now, i'm not complaining I simply choose to spend my hard earned dollars elsewhere. Anyway back on topic, i'll let you guys know how this all comes together, hopefully soon.

Get the police on him, make sure you tell them he is not being cooperative, you only need one quote and your insurance should help you, but being full coverage they wont do as much for you as they should its basically up for you to get ahold of the other guys insurance, that or get a lawyer after him and make him pay for lost time, lawyer fees and the car! document everything! you should end up ok. If its not looking good maybe his buddies shop isn't such a bad idea, unless they are complete hack jobs. lol

You have the details a little twisted, he has insurance of some sort (I hope) be refused to provide the info, therefore I'm waiting on AMA to dig it up. I have comprehensive, if I got hit and the guy ran then I could claim on my insurance. But because they have a person to go after for the expense they won't let me claim on comprehensive. Otherwise this **** would be fixed by now.

I think you are lucky he was decent enough of a human being to leave his card on your car. I don't understand why you decided to fill in a police report. Now you've tainted your carfax history and it will be more difficult to sell your car if you decide to. Sounds like he woulda paid outta pocket to have it fixed and dealt with without you bringing in police and insurance... I'd be pissed if I was him too now his insurance might go up.

You can't be mad at the person you hit with your car because they got their insurance involved. If your rates go up too bad, should not have hit the car in the first place. You only have so much time to file a police report by law, it would look bad filing a report two weeks later after the guy who hit you didn't provide remedy. I would have done the exact same thing and filed a report and called my insurance as well.

Anything over $1000 damage needs a police report otherwise the bodyshops won't touch it.

Do you think before you type? How is he going to get his car fixed if the damage is obviously over a grand? He needs a police report
