You inspired me to check out the German VW page - and you know what I found? Some unique shift knobs. I am guessing not many people here have these... and I bet they are a direct fit!!! If I go to Germany in spring I will have to see about getting one...
i called poland, they dont sell them there either. so i would have to get one from germany. its 18keuro, which is about $29k CAD. note that euro prices include vat (GST), so i would be able to subtract 22% tax due to exporting it, and pay the 7% here and plus fix bumpers to canadian spec, which i dont know how i would go about that. i wonder how they test that, by crashing the car? lol
anyway, the gti is a 1.6 16v 125hp, top speed 205km/h, standard with hid's, 16" rims i think, etc etc.
Umm its alot like importing a japanese car which I have heard alot more about. Apparantley they think like you that they can save some money, but by the time you get it in. Its gonna cost you alot of money. They would be a huge pain to try and get one in. Unless the car is more than however many years old.
