    1 bulb in 9 years for me. Dunno what to tell you dude, maybe you brake too much.

      i don't know but it always burns out left-right-left-right and so on................like its playing with me. and its usually the tail light more than the brake one. i keep spares in the trunk now.

        don't think it would cause this but have you had the brake light switch replaced?

          Recently I had to change the tail light on my Passat, The upper one on the Left side, so I go, get a bulb and put it in, Voila It works!! But wait, what's this?!? no brake light... Hmmm, inspection reveals I have installed it upside down... Easy fix, right? Ok now I have a brake light!! But Wait, no lower tail light now.... I jump in the car, go buy another bulb and of course they have no singles, I buy the 2 pack... Change the bulb and close the hatch, what no license plate markers... On an on it goes, what a day!!

              Oh that's what it is.... I suspected foul play but I had no Idea.... Little monsters....

                Have fun with Led tails in the winter and getting rear ended if you ever forget to clear the snow... LED = No Heat to melt snow... Just sayin be a pain the ass on a long road trip to the mountains or something...

                  yeah had it replaced once. but i am pretty sure it burn out quite frequently before that too.
