I have been wondering that myself too. Seems like all the places my insurance recommends are booked until the middle of next month. I need to take it to one of them to get adjusted before I can even decide on a shop.

Loc is great! I have seen Calgary Coachworks work on a family friends vehicle and wasn't personally impressed.

Contemporary Coachworks South is who we use, tell them Jay form Tunerworks sent you and he will make it happen quick and it will be great work, may not be the cheapest in town.

Re: Fender bender - best shop for VWs?

I thought I read somewhere that Calgary Coachworks was delisted by their insurance company. That can never be a good sign. I could be mistaken on the name though.
For me price doesn't matter as insurance is paying but since it is the family mover I would rather it not take forever (least the wife get attached to some expensive ugly minivan.)

Loc at Cosmos is fixing the damage on my mk4, I mentioned euro drivers and he offered to polish the haze left from my badge removal gone wrong, all free of charge!

Stand up guy if I might say so!

Re: Fender bender - best shop for VWs?

I've said it before and I'll say it again... it's more than just a business for Loc... he actually truly does love cars. And it shows. In fact, Loc and the Cosmos guys are so great that every once in a while, I'll actually just pop by the shop on a weekend to say hi and see what they're working on. As long as you drive German... Loc and the boys will treat you like family!

I wouldn't have recommended him as the forum sponsor if he wasn't a stand up guy! Glad you feel the same.

                      Cheers...

Re: Fender bender - best shop for VWs?

The only problem with going to Cosmos is that they are not approved through most insurance companies. Right now most have next to no adjusters to look at cars, they just tell you to take it to an approved shop for appraisal then you can take it any shop you want. The problems are that it takes weeks to get an appointment at one of those shops and if it needs any more work then the initial assessment then they have to send someone out.

Oh f*CK... don't get me started on insurance companies.

Cosmos insures all his own work. As such, there is no need to go to a stupid "approved" shop. If it is done wrong, Loc will fix it... TRUST ME!

Yes, it does take a little longer. So if you want your car now... then fine... take it to AAAAA1 Autobody and get it fixed today... but get ready for me to open up a can of "I told you so" a year from now when you're posting about your sh*tty repair job.

                          ...I'm just sayin'.

Did you even read what I wrote? You have to take it to an approved one before you can take it anywhere else to get appraised as they are not sending out adjusters. Read it all before you fly off the handle man. I already wanted to take the van to Cosmos but then again I don't think I could afford his costs on the couple extra spots I want fixed.
