  • Finished my 3 in exhaust (B5 passat)

So after 3 days of wrenching and fabricating, I got my new 3 in exhaust system made, and holy **** what a difference! Full boost comes on at about 3800-4000 instead of 5000 RPM. Also, now it'll boost well past 25 PSI. For the first time I actually had to let off the throttle to keep from overboosting.

Although I expected these results, I still have a hard time believing how restrictive my prior exhaust system was. The 3 in one is a little on the loud side, so I may yet end up putting in a resonator. However at this point I'm just happy to finally have completely opened up my entire engine. All in all I'm really really happy with how it turned out. I'd definitely have to say it's some of my better work.

Now, about that limited slip diff...

Pics: (I have some pics of the downpipe that I'll post later since they're on another camera)
    Here's where the madness happens

End of downpipe to first muffler section

    Downpipe and sensor ports

Closeup, you can see I left one bung in case I ever wanted to use a dyno O2 sensor

Downpipe to first muffler and beginning of transition section to second muffler

Actually, since 95% of what I've done to modify this car will bolt directly to a front track A4, I would say yeah, it's pretty much an Audi.

Back to the OP...That's cool what you did. A 3 inch exhaust is going to be loud, probably even deafening to people who are in your vehicle lol. In the end all that matters is that you like it, who cares what others think.

I personally don't give two wipes where you put this. I like how it looks like the little kid is doing a MJ croch grab in that pic T lol.
So I guess I come and see you when I need some welding work done? I think I am going to look into a small welder once I upgrade the electrical in my garage next year.

Looks good but yes, it is a Vw, I know, I have one. Go to glenmore Audi and ask for Audi passat parts. You would be looked very down upon.

someone should just move this and clean up the garbage post... it's a good build thread getting unnecessarily shat on....

You're obviously aware that this is going to happen, but insist on posting it in the wrong forum? Even I don't troll that hard.

Does that make me a professional instigator now? Can we be partners? But, business partners, not partners in the Sigfried and Roy sense.
