So after 3 days of wrenching and fabricating, I got my new 3 in exhaust system made, and holy **** what a difference! Full boost comes on at about 3800-4000 instead of 5000 RPM. Also, now it'll boost well past 25 PSI. For the first time I actually had to let off the throttle to keep from overboosting.
Although I expected these results, I still have a hard time believing how restrictive my prior exhaust system was. The 3 in one is a little on the loud side, so I may yet end up putting in a resonator. However at this point I'm just happy to finally have completely opened up my entire engine. All in all I'm really really happy with how it turned out. I'd definitely have to say it's some of my better work.
Now, about that limited slip diff...
Pics: (I have some pics of the downpipe that I'll post later since they're on another camera)
Here's where the madness happens
End of downpipe to first muffler section
Downpipe and sensor ports
Closeup, you can see I left one bung in case I ever wanted to use a dyno O2 sensor
Downpipe to first muffler and beginning of transition section to second muffler
